The space voyage provides a deliberately thin framework for this adult science fiction comedy. Its interest for a cult movie viewer lies in how a futuristic setting becomes an excuse to overturn ordinary social and sexual rules. Look for the distance between the promise of cosmic discovery and the familiar earthbound comedy underneath it. The title also invites comparison with more solemn space epics: here, the grand journey is redirected toward exploitation farce rather than transcendence.
