Castle Freak makes an inherited castle the setting for a family already damaged by guilt and loss. The hidden figure within the building is not simply an intruder; his presence exposes cruelty embedded in the household's history. Stone rooms, locked passages and partial glimpses turn architecture into a system of concealment. The film's strength is the uncomfortable connection between domestic grief and physical horror. Watch how the father's attempts to recover authority create further danger when he treats secrecy as a problem he can manage alone.
